A concise and complete picture of each book of the BiblePhillips comments are the best preparation for studying any book of the Bible I have found. His summary and overall picture of each book will make it so easy to study. The outlines truly outline the book to make it easy to study and to teach. There is a wealth of quotes and references from others that add great insight to the teaching. Reading his chapter on any book of the Bible you are going to study is a must. You will be glad you did. I have been unusually blessed and helped by this book.

Extravagant Strangers: A Literature of Belonging
Published in Paperback by Vintage Books (January, 1999)
Average review score:

Superb! Wonderful! Challenges Eurocentric hegemonyThis excellent compendium is a must for all those readers who *think* they know what it means to be British: i.e., white and middle class, and usually male. Phillips has elsewhere written about V S Naipaul, and has exposed him as something of an enemy of those who are suffering the pangs of diaspora. We must remember that Phillips is much more radical and challenges assumptions, much as Rushdie does. This wonderful book needs to be found in all libraries, *including yours*.

Fabrics and Wallpapers: Sources, Design, and Inspiration
Published in Hardcover by Bulfinch Press (November, 1991)
Average review score:

Easy to Read, Well-Organized, & Highly-EducationalBeing an interior designer, this book would be one of the best reference on my book shelves. The autour's knowleadge on fabric seems to be highly proffessional so that I believe this book could be an excellent textbook for schools. The book covers a well-summerized, but not superficial, history on each types of fabric from all over the world, and it further examines fabrics by catagories of different design subjects. Special terms on fabric design are well explained. The design of the book is pleasant, and many beautiful pictures are given which are helpful to understand the content. This is the kind of book I have been looking for, since I was an interior design student. (I studied in the U.S. so that I have seen so many other related books published there to compare !!!)

Faces
Published in Paperback by Xlibris Corporation (16 February, 2001)
Average review score:

Rare Insight"Faces" is a wonderful combination of courage on the part of the author and a testimonial of how the power of God can change anyone. It is an uplifting message to all. I have read Ms. Phillips book, "Seasons" also. It is a beautiful love story. Ms. Phillips has shown again she can write in any genre and still leave the reader with much to think about and appreciate in life. I recommend this book and any others to readers who can appreciate the most important things in life like God, family, and love of our fellow man. Keep those books coming, Ms. Phillips. Bravo again!!

The Fall of the Families: Story of the Gardener
Published in Paperback by Victor (November, 1995)
Average review score:

one of my all-time favourite seriesso sad to see this go out of print... i discovered this book in 1990 in england, read it voraciously and then went out to find the first book (master of paxwax). still one of my favourite series, and i re-read it periodically.
vast space opera without any of the cheesiness that often dogs the genre; exquisite descriptions of alien (and alien human) cultures; incredible story-telling.
can't recommend it too highly... six of five stars.

Family-Centered Maternity and Newborn Care: A Basic Text
Published in Paperback by Mosby (15 January, 1996)
Average review score:

FAMILY CENTERED MATERNITY/NEWBORN CAREEXCELLENT BOOK! VERY DETAILED AND INFORMATIVE.THE PHILOSOPHY OF FAMILY CENTERED CARE IS BEAUTIFUL BECAUSE IT IS A TRUE REFLECTION OF THE FACT THAT PREGNANCY AFFECTS THE WHOLE FAMILY. I LIKE THE STRUCTURE OF THE OBJECTIVES FOR EACH CHAPTER--IT MAKES THE BOOK BETTER ORGANIZED AND EASY TO UNDERSTAND AND THE QUESTIONS AND ANSWER SECTIONS AT THE END OF EACH CHAPTER HELP TO ENSURE A SOLID UNDERSTANDING OF EACH TOPIC. I DEFINATELY RECOMMEND IT TO THOSE SEEKING A BETTER UNDERSTSNDING OF PREGNANCY AND CHILDBIRTH!

Farewell, My Dummy: And Other Bridge Parodies
Published in Paperback by Batsford (June, 1903)
Average review score:

Excellent funThe authors make an excellent work of making parody plots out of famous writers' work (AC Doyle, Jane Austen, Jeffrey Archer, Raymond Chandler and Victor Mollo) and the deals presented are actually educational, and in no way exaggerated hands that would never be dealt in real life.
The book's light-hearted plots are easily read, and the hands tie up with the characters' personalities too.
If the term 'summertime bridge reading' existed, it would apply 100% to this book.

Fatal Flaw
Published in Paperback by Random House Value Pub (April, 1995)
Average review score:

Fatal FlawThis book is reader friendly and very exciting to read. The author started the research on this story of murder without the belief in the innocence of the main character, William Thomas (Tommy) Ziegler. Phillip Finch originally started out trying to be very neutral about this story. It is up to the reader to read the gathered information about Tommy and see what you believe is the truth; did Tommy kill family members and a customer in the family owned furniture store? Tommy has been on death row since 1976. This book opens up a subject that we should all be considering, is it right to execute a man who might be innocent in order to be sure we kill those who are guilty? This is a must read book!
The book is very readible yet extremely insightful and informative. The author's insights are amazing. He brougt this gospel to life in a way that brought indepth understanding to this gospel.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone interested in a very complete study of the Gospel of John.
